MRLS has been working with students with Developmental Disabilities and their parents for the past 28+ years. After years of providing support and care, it is now a registered company incorporated in 2017 with the continuing objective of providing Remedial Services to Individuals with special needs across the globe.

To be an inclusive centre of learning, care and support for individuals with developmental disabilities and empower them to use their potential to live life as equal and valued citizens.

Mission

  • To reduce the severity of developmental disabilities with an effective, comprehensive intervention plan.
  • To encourage early diagnosis for increasing the possibility of successful intervention.
  • To support best practice interventions for individuals with developmental disabilities such as mental retardation, borderline intelligence, learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders throughout the lifespan.
  • To promote awareness about different kinds of learning disorders in society and focus on the incredible abilities these individuals possess.
  • To contribute to research and development on the topic by working with institutions and academia.

Mukta Jatkar

Director

Mukta Jatkar is a qualified special educator who has been working in the field of special education for the last 28+ years. She imbibed the principles of ‘continuous learning’ and ‘pursuit of excellence in her field’ and is passionate about her work. After her graduation in Home-Science, specializing in Early Childhood Care Education from SNDT College Pune, she pursued her B.Ed. in special education from SNDT University, Mumbai. Her inclination for the subject led her to complete her Masters of Science in Education with specialization in Learning Disabilities from the University of Kansas, U.S.A.

While doing her masters she worked as Graduate Research Assistant. After completing her masters she worked as Junior ABA ( Applied Behavior Analysis) therapist in USA. She enhanced her skills to teach children with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorders) by attending various training programs in India.
She is also an alumnus of Rehabilitation Counseling Programme of Tata Institute of Social Sciences. She has wide experience in working with children with borderline intelligence, mental retardation, learning disabilities and autism spectrum disorders (ASD). She teaches students with these special needs on one-one basis as well as in group as per the need, plans their programs, counsels them and their parents.
Mukta has been closely associated with several schools in Nagpur, Pune and other cities of India, in the capacity of a consultant and teacher. She has also shared her academic and practical experience with University Students in LAD College in Nagpur, SNDT College and Symbiosis colleges in Pune. She has also developed study material for Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) for its post graduate teacher training programme.
Mukta feels the need to create a conducive eco system around these individuals to cope with learning. She strongly believes in building capacity of not only these individuals with special needs but also their families and therefore counsels them as well. She also conducts parent training program for parents of children with developmental disabilities such as autism spectrum disorders and learning disabilities so that they in turn can teach their children.
